Tonight could be the curtain call for the Chicago Cubs as they face elimination and a sweep against the New York Mets in Game 4 of the NLCS on TBS Sports TV and live online streaming. NY is ready to bust out the brooms and celebrate a World Series berth with a victory. Watch Mets vs Cubs Game 4 online free live streaming as the Cubs fight for their lives.

Through three games the Cubs haven’t been able to sustain a single rally or extended inning. Almost all of their scoring has come from scattered solo home runs. They lived by the home run during the regular season and they may die by it in the postseason.

Jason Hammel will start for the Cubs tonight following a rough outing in the NLDS. He gave up three runs in three innings including a two-run homer, but ended up with a no-decision and the Cubs rallied to win the game and the series. Hammel will be in the spotlight when we watch the NLCS live streaming or on TV tonight.

New York is riding the red hot bat of Daniel Murphy as he seeks his sixth straight postseason game with a home run. If Murphy knocks one out of Wrigley tonight then he will be all alone with six in a row. Currently Carlos Beltran also has five games with a home run.

Steven Matz get the start for the Mets after giving up three runs in five innings to the Dodgers. Like Hammel, Matz has limited work in the postseason thus far and wasn’t stellar in the work he did get. If the wind is blowing out then we could see a high scoring game, which the Cubs would love.

New York will be rocking tonight for Game 4 of the NLCS and it’s definitely must-see TV regardless of the outcome. Check below for the Mets Cubs game TV details and how to watch the Mets vs Cubs free streaming online as well.

Friday night’s Toronto Blue Jays vs Kansas City Royals ALCS Game 6 on Fox Sports 1 TV and Fox Sports Go live streaming carries a dramatically different outcome depending on who wins. If KC wins then they’re playing in the World Series next week. A Toronto win will force a decisive Game 7 tomorrow. Watch Blue Jays vs Royals online free live streaming as the ALCS continues.

Toronto is facing their fifth elimination game this postseason having obviously won the previous four. It will take a total of six elimination wins to reach the World Series and these last two would have to come on the road.

The Blue Jays fate rests in the arm of David Price, a pitcher whose postseason demons desperately need to be excised. Price gave up five runs in a Game 2 loss and unless he can finally find a postseason groove, his team’s season will conclude when we watch the NLCS live streaming or on TV tonight.

Kansas City knows the Blue Jays have already come back from the brink this postseason so the last thing they want to do is drop a second consecutive potential clinching win. Toronto is starting to look like last year’s Royals team and that could spell bad news for the home team.

Countering Price is Yordano Ventura, who also pitched in Game 2 and got the win. Ventura gave up three runs in that game and like Price was victimized by the bad innings. He comes in knowing he’s beaten Price before so the youngster’s nerves should be in check.

The Mets will be watching carefully with all of us tonight as the ALCS is either decided or extended for one more game. Check below for the Blue Jays Royals game TV details and how to watch the Blue Jays vs Royals streaming live on mobile devices or computers.

The World Series Game 2 tonight featuring the New York Mets vs Kansas City Royals on Fox Sports live TV and Fox Sports Go live streaming online has a tough act to follow after last night’s marathon extra innings effort. Though the Mets lost, they have to feel pretty good having their ace on the mound tonight against KC. Watch Mets vs Royals online free World Series live streaming baseball for what should be a great match up again.

New York had the lead in the eighth inning following an unusually clean outing from reliever Addison Reed and seemed on their way to stealing home field advantage. In the ninth with the win only a couple outs away, Alex Gordon hit a clutch home run for the Royals to tie the score at four and force extra innings.

It wasn’t until the 14th inning when the Royals managed to load the bases with nobody out on two hits and an intentional walk. They got the sac-fly to win and crushed New York’s hearts the same time. When we watch the Mets Royals game live streaming or on TV tonight, New York fans will feel extra confident.

Jacob deGrom, the Mets ace who has pitched fantastic this postseason, takes the mound tonight in hopes of evening up the series at 1-1. He has a 3-0 record with a 1.80 ERA in three postseason starts — all on the road — and won them all.

The Royals counter with Johnny Cueto, a trade deadline acquisition who got shelled in Toronto during his last start but was lights out at home the previous start. It’s no coincidence that Cueto is slotted into this game at home where his next potential start would be Game 6, also at home.

Expect some great baseball for tonight’s World Series Game 2. Below you will find the Mets Royals game TV details and how to watch the World Series online live streaming as well.

Two fire baller starting pitchers square off in Game 3 of the 2015 World Series tonight between the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets on Fox Sports live TV and Fox Sports Go live streaming. New York is on the verge of falling behind 3-0 in the series and statistically being a thread away from needing the impossible to hoist the trophy. Watch Royals vs Mets online free live streaming as KC looks to take command of the series.

The Mets have gotten a taste of their own medicine through the first two World Series games. In the NLCS, New York dominated the Cubs who were unable to get anything going off their pitching save for a scattered run here and there. Now it’s the Royals doing the same to NY and their fans.

In Game 2 the Royals jumped all over the Mets to take a 2-0 lead in the World Series by a 7-1 final score. Mets ace Jacob deGrom fell apart in the middle of his start and the Royals kept piling it on no matter who came out of the bullpen.

Tonight New York’s hopes rest on young Noah Syndergaard, a 6 foot 6 inch starting pitcher who averaged over 97 miles per hour with his fastball during the regular season, tops in all of MLB for starters who pitched at least 150 innings. He’ll have to be aware that the Royals are a contact hitting team who already took down deGrom and Matt Harvey, also hard throwing pitchers.

Kansas City sends Yordano Ventura to the mound. At 24 he’s only a year older than Syndergaard and his 96.3 mph average fastball ranked third in MLB. Watching these two young phenoms bring the heat tonight should be a real treat.

New York will be rocking for their first World Series game in several decades tonight. Watch the World Series Game 3 on TV or live streaming online by using the details below.

There’s life in the Big Apple heading into tonight’s World Series 2015 Game 4 featuring the Kansas City Royals vs New York Mets on Fox Sports TV and Fox Sports Go live streaming online. The NYM have cut the Royals lead down to 2-1 with an offensive explosion last night and can tie up the series with another home win. Watch Royals vs Mets online free live streaming World Series baseball tonight on Halloween.

Last night  Noah Syndergaard set the tone for New York by throwing the ball near Alcides Escobar on the first pitch of the game. That seemed to get under the skin of the Royals helped wake up the Mets bats that had been dormant following a 5-4 extra innings loss.

By the end of Game 3 the Mets had won 9-3 with slugger David Wright breaking out of his slump with a long home run. When we watch the World Series game live streaming or on TV tonight, New York will be playing with a little extra confidence in trying to avoid a 3-1 hole.

The Mets will send Steven Matz to the mound to start Game 4. Matz has had a lot of action in the postseason thus far and will be on a 90-95 pitch count. When he hits his limit look for Bartolo Colon to come on in long relief.

Kansas City is starting Game 1 winner Chris Young who worked three innings of spotless relief in extra innings. Young considers those innings, in which he threw 53 pitches, to have been like a regular start and he’ll be ready to go as long as necessary tonight.

Happy Halloween for tonight’s World Series game between the Royals and Mets from New York. The Game 4 TV details and how to watch the Royals vs Mets live free streaming can be found just ahead.

The 2015 World Series trophy could be awarded after tonight’s Kansas City Royals vs New York Mets Game 5 on Fox Sports live TV or Fox Sports Go live streaming. KC completed the comeback win last night to push NY to the brink, down 3-1 in the series. Watch Royals vs Mets online free live streaming tonight as KC takes their first of three attempts to win it all.

The Mets were well on their way to winning Game 4 and evening up the World Series at 2-2 when disaster struck. NLCS MVP Daniel Murphy, who the Cubs must have snuck the goat into his belongings for the World Series, booted a ground ball in the eighth that led to a three-run Royals inning. By the time the dust settled KC had won 5-3 and reduced their magic number to one.

If the Mets are to win the 2015 World Series they will have to win three games in a row, including two on the road. It’s a good thing they have their top three pitchers ready to go when we watch the World Series live free online streaming or on TV tonight.

Edinson Volquez, who started Game 1 for the Royals, gets the start tonight under unfortunate circumstances. Volquez’s father died just before Game 1 and he’s been in the Dominican Republic mourning the loss. Now he’s back and ready to try and help the Royals win their first World Series in 30 years.

The Mets will counter with Matt Harvey, their ace who has a 7-1 record and 1.49 ERA in 13 starts at home. Harvey gave up three runs in six innings in Game 1 and it wouldn’t shock anyone if he managed to blank KC tonight.

Will tonight be the night for the Royals or will the Mets live for another day? Find out during Game 5 tonight, and find the Royals Mets game TV details and how to watch the World Series game online live just below.

MLB The Show 16 Launch Date, Cover Athlete Announced

Today, Sony Computer Entertainment and San Diego Studios opened the 2015 PlayStation Experience in San Francisco by announcing the next installment of the mega-popular MLB The Show series for the 2016 season.

MLB The Show 16 will hit the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on March 29, 2016. Curiously, the PS Vita will not have a version of the game this year. The Show 16 will introduce new features to the gameplay and to the Road to the Show mode. As the official PlayStation Blog reveals, the biggest new feature in next year’s game will be ShowTime!

“In MLB The Show 16, you’ll experience baseball’s most epic moments like never before with ShowTime. Using ShowTime, you can slow down critical moments for maximum control. ShowTime offers gamers a powerful new tool to help them excel in those big baseball moments.

“You’ll be able to make diving plays, react at the hot corner, and step up for a clutch at bat with finer and more focused control.”

Essentially, it seems that bang-bang plays will now go into a slow-mo mode that will give the player an epic, life-like opportunity to make the big play. How this will affect the game flow has yet to be seen, but San Diego Studios absolutely knows what it is doing, and after 15 years, they are afforded the benefit of the doubt.

Also announced for MLB The Show 16 are tweaks to the Road to the Show mode. As the Official PlayStation Blog explains:

“We’ve also made the Road to the Show experience more personalized and rewarding in 2016. A revamped training system gives you the chance to unlock Gameplay Perks as you work your way through Road To The Show (PS4 only). You can also expect a more streamlined Road To the Show experience, as a new paradigm for base-running and fielding opportunities will maximize the time you spend in situations that matter. And for the first time ever in the MLB The Show franchise, you can play an entire series of Road To The Show games without ever having to navigate the main menu between games.”

Personally, I like the idea of not having to back out of a game to initiate the next game in a series. I usually sit down and play series in chunks (three game series with the Red Sox, four game homestand with Rangers), so this is a welcome change.

In addition, San Diego Studios announced that the Toronto Blue Jays third baseman, Josh Donaldson will be the cover star in 2016. In the past, MLB The Show has featured different athletes for both the U.S. and Canadian versions, but Donaldson, the 2015 American League MVP, was special enough to transcend both versions — the first player ever to do so.

MLB The Show 16 Preview

Josh Donaldson is the first athlete to grace the cover of both the U.S. and Canadian versions of The Show.

Lastly, Sony announced that MLB The Show 16 will be available in different versions, with different retail bonuses on March 29, 2016. Taken from the Blog:

Finally, we’re excited to announce that PS4 pre-orders for MLB The Show 16 are now live! Those who pre-order the game will receive 10 bonus standard-item packs and a MLB The Show Player Rep Rookie Card when you pick-up or download the game. Those who pre-order at GameStop (or EB Games in Canada) will additionally receive five bonus item packs and those who pre order on the PS Store will receive three exclusive MLB The Show-themed PS4 Avatars (in addition to their 10 item packs and Rookie Card). Here’s a handy list below for how and where to pre-order:

MLB The Show 16 MVP Edition

Last year we released a limited 10th Anniversary Edition, and the feedback was so positive that we decided to craft a new MVP Edition for our fans this year. Priced at $69.99 ($89.99 in Canada), the MVP Edition contains more than $135 in content. It’s available for pre-order at retail and on the PlayStation Store now!

  • Limited Edition Steel Book and Packaging ($5.00 Value) – for physical version only
  • 5,000 Stubs ($5.00 value)
  • 1 Sponsor Pack ($5.00 value)
  • 10 Standard Packs ($10.00 total value)
  • 31 PS4 MLB Themed Avatars ($31.00 total value)
  • 1 Opening Day Pack ($25.00 value)

MLB The Show 16 Digital Deluxe Edition

For our Hardcore Diamond Dynasty and Road To The Show fans, we created a digital edition exclusive to PlayStation Store! The Digital Deluxe Edition is $99.99 ($119.99 in Canada) and it includes more than $200 in content, making it a must-have for the most dedicated fans of the Show.

  • 11,000 Stubs ($10.00 value)

  • 20 Standard Packs ($20.00 total value)
  • 31 PS4 MLB Themed Avatars ($31.00 total value)

Once San Diego Studios announces more information — and screenshots — we will be here to cover all bases (pun fully intended) as the 2016 baseball season kicks off in February with the opening of spring training camps in Arizona and Florida. And we cannot wait!

MLB: The Show 16 Review: The Throne Is Safe

I love baseball. Every year when developer Sony San Diego Studio releases a new version of their perennial home run, MLB: The Show — to me — is just like Opening Day. The excitement and the anticipation becomes almost unbearable. We can spend all winter reporting all about the new additions coming to the game each year, and post videos and screenshots until our eyes bleed and our fingers cramp, but until the new game loads up; and the near-perfect presentation kicks off; and the first batter steps into the box, no one really knows what changes will work and what will fall to the wayside as good intentions gone unfulfilled (looking at you, pulse pitching).

In MLB: The Show 16, San Diego Studio has doubled-down on presentation and game mode polish, leaving most major innovations on the bench, and the end result is a game franchise that not only changed the genre of sports video games over 10 years ago, but one that continues to lead off by showing other developers how to successfully pull off a full-featured sports title that resonates with the fan in all of us.

MLB: The Show 16 Review

Baseball, when distilled down to its core, is a very simple game. It’s nine guys with a ball and a stick, versus nine guys with oversized leather gloves. One guy throws a balls over a rubber plate that’s about a foot across and has a mythical, invisible zone that floats three-feet above that plate. Another guy tries his hardest to use a stick to hit that ball as hard and as far as he can. It’s not rocket surgery. There are no scripted plays; no diagrams for Xs and Os. It’s a pitch and swing and possibly a hit, rinse and repeat for 27 outs on each side. Nothing will ever change there, and luckily, it’s the one thing that The Show does better than anyone else.

Pitching and hitting remain relatively unchanged, with very slight tweaks to the various meters and the info presented to the player as they play. Most of the features from last year’s title remain, adding even more realism to a game that at first glance looks and plays so incredibly lifelike. New player animations and graphical tweaks make the game characters look so much like their real-life counterparts that it’s impossible to differentiate between the two at a glance. Baseball has never looked better than it does here, and I still think that there’s room for improvement, which is a scary thought.

Confidence is a big deal in baseball, and MLB: The Show 16 does an amazing job adding it to this year’s campaign. Pitchers gain and lose confidence in pitches that they throw, and it affects how the pitch works. On the flip side, batters can see what is working that day for each pitcher and might be able to better jump on a 4-seam fastball that in previous games would have blown past them. The cat-and-mouse game played between batter and pitcher has never felt more real. Seriously, folks. This stuff is in this game, and that is why MLB: The Show is annually one of the best video games, sports or otherwise, period.

MLB: The Show 16 Review

ShowTime slows the game down in pivotal moments to ensure the success of legend-making catches and epic, timely hits.

The Road to the Show (RTTS) mode, which is still the absolute best sports career sim on the market introduces the biggest new gameplay feature of the year, called ShowTime. This allows the player to hit the R2 button during the game in certain situations to cause the game to slow down and set up what could be an incredible play — both offensively and defensively. If the bases are loaded and you are down 4-2 in the bottom of the ninth, hit that R2 button to slow the pitch down as it crosses the plate and then send it onto the bookshelf of some lucky kid sitting in the outfield bleachers. The meter has essentially a one-time use, so the player has to ration it for when it is the most effective. ShowTime works on the defense as well. A second baseman can use ShowTime to ensure that he can reach a screamer over the pitchers head, or an outfielder can make the dive to rob extra bases. Missing, of course, not only stings because you wasted the ShowTime meter, but the damage done could be the difference from a win or a loss.

MLB: The Show 16 Review

Creating a player from scratch and then taking them through a MLB career in Road to the Show is still fun and exciting.

The addition of ShowTime adds a new wrinkle to gameplay, and there have been games where I used it up, and there have been games where I never needed it. It’s not mandatory to use, but it’s there when — and if — needed. Heck, maybe you just want to pad your highlight reel with moon shot grand slams and diving put-outs at the hot corner. ShowTime gives The Show 16 a new and fun mechanic to add to a game, without, you know, changing or breaking the game.

In addition to ShowTime and streamlined, faster gameplay in RTTS, perks are introduced for the first time ever. Much like a popular FPS shooter, perks gives the player boosts that can be added each game that costs ShowTime meter points to use, but a guaranteed hit is nice to have in your pocket in a tight game. There is a limit of 120 perk points that can be used, and each perk has its own cost to equip. I used them once for the purpose of the review, and then dismantled it and won’t use it again. With perks and ShowTime, RTTS feels almost too easy, and the beauty of MLB: The Show has always been in the difficulty of the game. Baseball, while a simple sport, is not easy to play. And the rewards of moving up from AA Jackson to AAA Tacoma and eventually to Seattle have always felt earned after a long struggle of slumps and benchings, but here, my character’s progression feels like Mike Trout on steroids, and some of the realism in the gameplay has suffered. I mean, I’m glad I hit well over .400 in one season, but come on.

MLB: The Show 16 Review

The pregame show is very realistic. Me hitting over .300 is not.

Another major renovation comes in the form of presentation. MLB: The Show 16 takes the broadcast stylings and hits it completely out of the park. Thousands of new lines of dialogue were recorded to truly tell the story of the battle on field, using situational phrases that are actually pertinent to the action going on in the game. Cut-aways between and after innings have the look and feel of watching a game on TV, including using real life video footage from locations in the host city, from skylines to tourist spots. Seattle features video footage of the Pike Place Market. It’s the same kind of things that networks have used for years in real broadcasts. Even something as small as the score “bug” (the little box that has the score, and balls, strikes, and outs) is tailored to different teams, almost as if you are watching completely unique broadcasts. It works amazingly well to further blur the line between real and game.

And even the umpire crews have been revamped this year. The umps have names, and backstories that the broadcast team of Matt Vasgersian, Eric Karros, and Steve Lyons will gladly tell you all about during a game. There are 20 unique umpires in The Show 16. Also, the umps seem to be mic’d, as strikes, balls, and base decisions ring out with clarity. It’s a small feature, but again proves that MLB: The Show 16 is trying so hard to create something realistic.

MLB: The Show 16 Review

The statues in Detroit’s Comerica Park are just one of the many touches that add realism to The Show 16.

Certain parks with retractable roofs now have the ability to open and close, which changes the dynamic of the visuals in those parks, depending of the time of day and weather. Light and shadows — no matter the time of day — follow actual physics (and look stunning on the PS4). And parks — and teams — that have stadium-specific rituals or promotions are included. When Felix Hernandez takes the mound in Seattle (yes, all of my examples are from Seattle — can you guess my favorite team?), the gold-clad King’s Court is in session, with fans wearing yellow T-shirts and the “K-K-K-K” chants ring out when The King has two strikes on a batter. Again, this doesn’t affect gameplay but it adds so much realism to a video game that these changes, whether small or large, work to elevate MLB: The Show 16 so much higher than ANY sports video game on the market.

Speeding up the game is a feature that San Diego Studio has been working on for the last few years, starting with at-bats that begin deep into pitch counts. Now, MLB: The Show 16 goes even further by speeding up the already relatively quick RTTS games by eliminating the need to go back to the main menu after games (along with load times before and after). Now, players can play a whole series — two, three, or four games — as one event, and it makes churning through the summer months that much faster. I loaded a year-to-year save file (year-to-year saves in RTTS, Franchise and Season were introduced last year, and obviously return for The Show 16) from 2014’s game and quickly played through the back end of the ’14 season and all of 2015 (including spring training) in about three days. It used to take me about a month of real time to play a full season. That’s fast!

MLB: The Show 16 Review

The WAR stat is one of the most important sabermetric used in baseball, and The Show 16 has finally included it.

On top of the broadcast presentations and ShowTime, two other modes have been revamped in MLB: The Show 16. Franchise mode has once again been changed to reflect a more realistic approach. Owners now have to rely on stats more than ever, and even revenue sharing and luxury tax penalties come into play. And finally Wins Above Replacement (WAR) are a viable stat in Franchise mode. This is huge for owners looking to build dynasties. Unfortunately, I’m still personally sad that I can no longer set merch, parking, and hot dog prices, or negotiate billboard advertising rates, which was my favorite thing about franchise mode in the past (this feature was taken out in 2013 — and yes, I’m still bitter). I’m glad that San Diego Studio is still tinkering with Franchise to give owners old and new more and more tools with which to build winners.

The Diamond Dynasty (DD) mode perhaps gets the biggest overhaul in MLB: The Show 16. The whole mode is still a card-based fantasy baseball game, but new features, like an incredible in-depth team creation suite, and two sub-modes in Battle Royale and Conquest make DD the mode worth checking out. New legends cards have been included here in The Show 16, and the community marketplace and the ability to buy packs with stubs or real cash make team building a breeze.

MLB: The Show 16 Review

Diamond Dynasty uses baseball cards to build teams, including legendary players new and old.

Battle Royale consists of a 25-man draft, and then a tournament of three-inning games to win prizes and bragging rights. We’ve seen this mode in Madden NFL 2016, but MLB: The Show 16 does an outstanding job bringing it to the world of baseball. If you keep winning, you go farther and farther, but two losses knocks you out and you have to start all over with another 25-man draft.

Conquest is a real-time-strategy-like mode where players play games against territories in hopes of building a nationwide fanbase. Winning games creates fans, and then those fans can be dispersed around North America to foment bigger fanbases. The goal is to make the entire continent into Mariners fans. Well, that’s my goal, at least. The rewards are rare cards that can be used in other The Show 16 modes. It’s a neat mode, and I do enjoy playing it, but it’s not what I’m here to do.

Also to be noted, the Home Run Derby mode has adopted the new rules from the actual All Star Weekend, with team captains taking precedence over league loyalty. Challenge of the Week also returns, this year with both hard goods and digital goods as prizes, which will hopefully give more players a chance to win each week. Lastly, Sounds of the Show returns giving players the option of adding their own music files for batter walk ups, home runs, and crowd chants can be recorded and assigned to individual players. In addition, it begs to be mentioned that the in-game soundtrack continues to be one of the best in a sports game franchise. I don’t know how they do it year-in and year-out, but Sony San Diego curates an incredible music set each year, and this year is no different.

MLB: The Show 16 Review

If the interviewer asked the real me what I thought about the game, I’d have very positive things to say.

MLB: The Show 16 is simply without peer as not only a baseball video game, but as a sports video game. NBA2K has done some great stuff lately in their series, and Madden is catching up, but MLB: The Show continues to set the pace on how to create a near-perfect sports franchise. With already solid gameplay, deep customization in how the game is played, including myriad sliders for nearly every aspect of the sport, and now some major love and innovation given to presentation and ancillary features, Sony’s San Diego Studio sits atop the throne as the best sports developer on this planet, and MLB: The Show 16 is proof positive why they belong there. The start of a new MLB baseball season in now only days away, but I don’t mind. In my season, I’m already in June and I have a few players who will be playing in San Diego on the second Tuesday in July. When a video game can replace some of the grandeur of the real thing, there is no truer measuring stick for its greatness.

MLB: The Show 16 is available now exclusively for the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. This review is based off a PS4 review code provided by Sony.

The last time these teams met the KC Royals celebrated a World Series win, so NY will be looking to exact a little revenge. Watch Mets vs Royals online free live streaming tonight as each team’s ace takes the mound.

New York features arguably the best 1-3 starters in the Majors and will send Matt Harvey to the mound tonight. Harvey started the last meeting between these teams, Game 5 of the World Series, and was unable to extend the series with a win.

Kansas City counters with Edinson Volquez, the same pitcher who faced Harvey in Game 5. Volquez had an incredible postseason and will look to build upon that success in the 2016 Major League Baseball campaign.

Both of these rosters are relatively intact from last year’s postseason squads. They’re also both healthy so expect a competitive game as the Royals try to prove pundits picking them to finish last again wrong.

Tune in for tonight’s Mets vs Royals opening night 2016 baseball game for the first-ever opening game of a season featuring the previous year’s World Series teams. The NY Mets vs KC Royals game TV details, how to watch the game online and more is below.

Opening Day 2016 finally arrives Tuesday for the New York Yankees and Houston Astros following Monday’s untimely rain out. Fortunately the game was only postponed a single day gets the same start time as it originally had yesterday. Watch Yankees vs Astros online free live streaming on the ESPN cable TV network and Watch ESPN3 from the office today.

These two teams faced one another in last year’s Wild Card game with Cy Young Award-winner Dallas Keuchel pitching his Astros to a victory against New York’s Masahiro Tanaka. Those two aces square off again today in a rematch of that AL Wild Card game in Yankee Stadium.

Keuchel emerged as one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball last year while Tanaka was plagued by a rash of injuries that interrupted his season. Both are healthy right now and looked good this spring, setting the stage for what should be a pitchers duel on the mound.

The Yankees will be without closer Aroldis Chapman, their big free agent acquisition, for the first 30 games of the season following a domestic violence allegation. Houston will miss powerful DH Evan Gattis who is recovering from sports hernia surgery.

Just yesterday the Astros chose Luke Gregerson to be their closer following an intense spring training battle. Look for Gregerson to enter today’s Yankees game if there’s a save situation.

Tune in for the postponed Opening Day Yankees vs Astros game today on ESPN from the office or while out and about using the information presented below.

The 2016 All-Star Game festivities continue Monday night on ESPN with the 2016 T-Mobile Home Run Derby from San Diego, California. Eight players will step up to the plate with the sole intention of hitting the baseball as far as they possibly can. Watch Home Run Derby online free live streaming via the ESPN3 mobile app tonight or simulcast on MLB.com if you’re on the go.

Last year’s new format of pitting one player against another from the first round to the end is still in effect. The seeding is determined by the number of home runs hit through Wednesday of last week so in theory the higher seeds should advance to the second round.

One side of the bracket features Mark Trumbo (1) against Corey Seager (8), and Robinson Cano (4) against Giancarlo Stanton (5). Stanton is the wild card entry into the Home Run Derby as he’s not participating in Tuesday’s All-Star Game. The winners of these two matches will face each other in the semifinals.

The other side of the bracket has Adam Duvall (3) against Wil Myers (6), and last year’s champ Todd Frazier (2) against Carlos Gonzalez (7).

Some key rules to remember are each batter has only four minutes on the clock to hit homers. They can extend that time by 30 seconds if two homers meet or exceed 440 feet. One 45-second timeout is also permitted.

Tonight’s 2016 T-Mobile Home Run Derby throws out the first pitch at around 8 pm EST / 5 pm PST. The competition is televised exclusively on ESPN cable with online streaming coming at ya from ESPN 3 here and MLB.com, each requiring a cable login for mobile streaming access.

The Kid Is Back! MLB: The Show 17 Unveils Its Hall Of Fame Cover Star

Sony and San Diego Studio has announced the cover star for next year’s MLB: The Show, and it is none other than legendary Seattle Mariner, and now MLB Hall of Famer, Ken Griffey, Jr.! Griffey, who was inducted into Cooperstown this past July by the largest vote in MLB history (he was 0.3% away from being the first unanimous vote), has not graced the cover of a video game since the days of the Super Nintendo, when he starred in three games for Nintendo, who, at the time, owned the Seattle Mariners.

The MLB: The Show 17 Griffey cover announcement also came with news regarding the various versions of the game, including some store exclusives, which will include many different whistles and bells, depending on which version you go with. The most obvious is the Gamestop-exclusive Hall of Fame Edition, which comes with a physical New Era snap-back hat, a steelbook case that resembles Griffey’s Mariners uniform, and a cornucopia of Stubs, packs, 31 PS4 team themes, and other goodies, making this the definitive edition of MLB: The Show 17. It retails for $99.99.

MLB The Show 17 Griffey Cover

The Sony Playstation Store also gets its own exclusive digital deluxe version, which comes with more standard packs, but no case and no physical hat. This version also retails for $99.99.

The MLB: The Show 17 MVP Edition contains the game, the steelbook case, 31 MLB team themes, and Stubs and packs to get you going. This edition retails for $69.99. The standard edition includes the game and the beautiful cover featuring Ken Griffey, Jr. It retails for $59.99.

MLB The Show 17 Griffey Cover

All versions come with pre-order bonuses including more packs, more Stubs, and a digital Ken Griffey, Jr. card. MLB: The Show 17 will hit stores on March 28, 2017, just as Spring Training is ending and the new MLB season is looming. Below is the short announcement trailer for the game. The Canadian cover will be announced at a later date, but given the popularity of Griffey all throughout baseball, it would not be a stretch to see him adorn both covers in 2017 like the Blue Jays’ Josh Donaldson did this year.

MLB: The Show 17 is a Playstation 4 exclusive and will be in stores on March 28, 2017. We will have more coverage of the game as Sony and San Diego Studio releases information as the long, cold, baseball-less winter goes on.

The 2016 Fall Classic was the end of a long road. Generations of families and friends celebrated cherished memories newly washed by a championship. And it was, perhaps even the beginning of a new kind of journey for the Cubs and their fans. Owner Tom Ricketts and General Manager Theo Epstein collaborated to shape a staff and team that could pull off the most epic of championships. With a powerful combination of talent and grit, Manager Joe Maddon’s cast of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Jake Arrieta, Dexter Fowler, Jon Lester and World Series MVP Ben Zobrist, the Cubs played better baseball than the Giants and Dodgers to set up a historically dramatic World Series against the Indians. Of course, it would come down to a Game 7 full of surprise, anxiety, and excitement. The Cubs would overcome a tenacious Indians comeback, using a mythical rain delay, inspirational speech, and an extra inning of baseball to crown a 103-win season with a World Series title. This historic official film from Major League Baseball presents the exciting story of the Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series championship run through comprehensive highlights, exclusive access and interviews, and breathtaking footage.

‘MLB: The Show 17’ Trailer Reveals Gameplay, Retro Mode

In the chaos of the 2016 PlayStation Experience in Anaheim over the weekend, many new Playstation titles were revealed, and other surprises leaked out to the public for the first time as Sony flexed its muscles for its fans. Even with a new Uncharted side story title, and the atomic bomb that was The Last of Us 2, Sony still made a huge impact on the sports world with the release of a new gameplay trailer for the hotly-anticipated MLB: The Show 17, which will feature newly-minted Hall of Famer Ken Griffey, Jr. on the cover.

The trailer shows gameplay, of course, but also touches on some of the aspects from the revamped Road to the Show mode, showing a player in the lockeroom getting tips from his coach, as opposed to post game talks on the dugout bench. Could this signal a deeper story progression in the popular sports RPG mode?

On top of the that, San Diego Studio also showed off the cover boy in all his glory (though why the “Jr.” is included on his uniform is a question to be answered, from a game that prides itself on realism), along with some new celebrations, made up teams, and cool uniforms.

Ken Griffey, Jr., aside from being the greatest Seattle Mariners player ever, was also very much into video games, and when Nintendo bought the Mariners in 1992, that marriage led to one of the greatest baseball video games ever in Ken Griffey, Jr. Presents Major League Baseball for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. MLB: The Show 17 remembers that game, and apparently has chosen to honor it by including a new retro mode in The Show 17. The play control, sound effects, and HUD aesthetics are taken right from the Nintendo classic, with only the player models and, of course, updated rosters looking decidedly 2017.

MLB The Show 17 Preview

The trailer is included above, and if this is the direction that MLB: The Show 17 is headed, next year’s game could end up being the greatest baseball game of all time. And yes, I know I say that every year, but San Diego Studio has yet to prove me wrong. Enjoy the trailer, and come back for more on the game as we get closer to launch.

MLB: The Show 17 is available exclusively for the Playstation 4, and will be released on March 28, 2017.

‘MLB: The Show 17’ Preview: Role Playing A Dream

As spring training begins to wind down, and the World Baseball Classic heads towards its championship round (go USA!), the MLB baseball season looms ever closer, and with it comes San Diego Studio’s highly anticipated MLB: The Show 17. We’re now just over a week from launch, and while we’ve covered certain aspects of the game, today we’re going to preview the revamped Road to the Show game mode, which has now added some very deep role-playing elements to give players the feeling of what it takes to actually get to The Show.

MLB: The Show 17 is going to have the usual stellar gameplay and graphical wonderment that have defined the series since its inception. That’s a given. And while I called 2015’s game the best sports RPG on the market, Sony and San Diego Studio set out to prove me wrong, by taking the RTTS mode and rebuilding it. They’ve added conversation trees, and more interactions with coaches, GMs, agents, and teammates, in what is being called “Pave Your Path.” The mode is presented in a documentary style, with a narrator, who will document your career every step of the way. This is a fantastic addition. No longer will the story of a player’s rise to possible superstardom be told in a series of emails sent to the player’s inbox.

MLB: The Show 17 Preview

MLB: The Show 17 promises to take the player on a journey; a personal journey that will be based off player skill, and decisions made in the locker room from conversations, interactions, and by actually playing the game. In the past, getting to the show always felt a little too easy. And if a player hit a rough patch in their development, they could always spend real money on Stubs to buy skill points for upgrades to get their in-game player over the hump. This has always proven the way to go for impatient people, but baseball fans — true baseball fans — are ingrained with patience.

Look at Cubs fans. They had to wait 108 years between championships, and the true fans never gave up hope. As a lifelong Seattle Mariner fan myself, I get that frustration, and my patience often wears thin at the prospect of another “wait ’til next year,” which for us usually happens in late June or early July. Patience is the key to success in the Road to the Show; patience at the plate, in the training, and in the overall development.

MLB: The Show 17 Preview

The greatest thing about MLB: The Show is the realism that it tries — and so often succeeds — to capture. And it is realistic to earn your way to camp in spring. You earn your way into an organization’s AA or AAA teams based on how well you play, not how many stubs you pay. That makes the eventual — if you’re good enough — debut on the major league roster that much sweeter. I will never forget my first call up, my first major league home run, or my first post season and eventual World Series crown.

And all of this from a video game. Check out the video below for more on the true RPG-like Pave Your Path feature in the Road to the Show game mode.

That goes to show why MLB: The Show is so beloved by fans, and why the fact that San Diego Studio has given so much attention to the role playing aspects in MLB: The Show 17 is such a big deal. Will it deliver on the promises made? Time will tell, but if the past is truly prologue, I’d say all signs point to a happy fanbase on March 28.

MLB: The Show 17 Preview

Stay tuned for more coverage of MLB: The Show 17 and our official review in the coming weeks. Check out all the cool versions and preorder bonuses available for pre-order now, and that amazing Ken Griffey, Jr. cover!

MLB: The Show 17 is available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and will release on March 28, 2017.

The 2017 Chicago Cubs will defend their first MLB World Series title in 108 years against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight in the final Opening Day game on ESPN. Aces will be on the mound and you can find out how to watch Cubs vs Cardinals live free online streaming Opening Day game.

Chicago won’t be flying under anyone’s radar this year after coming from down 3-1 against the Indians for an improbable World Series title. If anything they might be stronger this season with slugger Kyle Schwarber back in the lineup after missing most of last year due to injury.

The Cubs will send ace Jon Lester (19-5, 2.44 ERA in 2016) to the mound in hopes of getting the Cubs off on the right foot. Whether Lester can be as effective with new catcher Willson Contreras as he was with now-retired personal catcher David Ross remains to be seen.

The Cardinals counter with Carlos Martinez who won the opening day spot in spring training. Martinez’s ERA against the Cubs is nearly 5.0, but he’s the guy for Mike Matheny and will be tasked with taking on one of the most potent offensives in the league.

Another story is Dexter Fowler, the former Cubs lead-off man who is now on St Louis. Fowler was a big reason for the Cubs success last year and now he aims to hand them a defeat.

Get ready for tonight’s big Cubs vs Cardinals game as NL Central rivals do battle. The Opening Day game details including TV coverage, start time and Cubs live streaming is below.

Teams: Cubs at Cardinals (Busch Stadium)
Start Time: 8:30 pm EST / 5:30 pm PST

‘MLB: The Show 17’ Review: Put Me In, Coach

Last July, Ken Griffey, Jr. took his rightful place among the hallowed halls of Cooperstown, and this year he is the cover star of Sony San Diego’s MLB: The Show 17 (in North America, at least. Aaron Sanchez is the cover star for Canada and Wei-Yin Chen graces the Taiwan cover). But is the game worthy enough of a cover star who gained the most Hall of Fame votes ever, after a stellar career that spanned four decades? The short answer is dear god, yes.

MLB: The Show 17 continues to build upon the absolute best sports franchise on the market by giving players a solid year of new tweaks and features meant to give fans of America’s Pastime so much more to do than just hit a ball with a bat and run bases. The new polish for 2017 includes new animations and player celebrations, new in-game announcers from the MLB Network in Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac, joining the always reliable Matt Vasgersian, and needed tweaks to existing modes, including Conquest in the Diamond Dynasty and new features in Franchise.

MLB The Show 17 Review

But the biggest addition to MLB: The Show 17 comes to the Road to the Show mode, where the mega-popular player career sim has taken on a true documentary feel with a narrator, conversation trees that award certain bonuses and dictate the direction of a player’s career, and tweaks to how a career is played out. This new feature in RTTS is called “Pave Your Path,” and it truly adds an even deeper RPG element to the storied game franchise.

In fact, after playing a few rising stars games and entering the MLB draft, players used to be able to select their favorite teams to play for, but in 2017, that’s gone. Players will have to suffer through a draft and hope, just like a real life MLB star-in-the-making. They will have to play well and hire an agent and demand a trade, or ride out their contract and sign as a free agent IF your favorite team has a need. It adds a new wrinkle to the RTTS mode — good or bad — and while I feel like I’m wasting my limited career years in the Rays and Brewers organizations, the day I can sign a contract with my beloved Mariners will be a great day indeed, so I can see how this adds some new realism to the mode.

MLB: The Show 17 Review

Franchise mode gives players more freedom to run a franchise from all aspects. Its not just trades and free agent signings. A GM has to juggle all facets of an organization, including scouting, and the minor leagues. San Diego Studio has included the option of turning off some of the more intricate tasks, but purists or sim fans will find plenty to chew on in Franchise.

Diamond Dynasty returns with more tweaks, and a greater emphasis on Topps cards to build teams, including more legends than ever. Players can even design their teams from top to bottom, including custom logos and uniforms, and then take their team out for various types of games, both against the computer or online against other players. Tournaments and battle royals can be played and the rewards are more cards, stubs, and mission fulfillments.

MLB The Show 17 Review

Conquest is back, with gives MLB: The Show 17 a RISK-like game mode where a Diamond Dynasty team tries to take over North America a fan base at a time. Players amass fans and then play short three-inning games against the defending team and the winner gets the territory. Certain games can be simmed, which saves some time when battling for no man’s land territories in the Dakotas, but trying to take out strongholds on the upper eastern seaboard are as hard as one would think. Who knew the Yankees and Red Sox had so many fans? (That was a joke question. Please don’t tweet at me that I have no idea what I’m talking about.) Conquest is a nice break from the marathon of a season in Franchise, or a multi-year career in Road to the Show, and gives MLB: The Show 17 yet another outstanding pillar in its overall structure.

As for the graphics, MLB: The Show 17 looks amazing, yet again, and the PS4 Pro upgrades, including 4K and HDR support, really make everything look more realistic. While the current wave of ridiculous beards and mop-like long hairstyles does nobody any favors, the designers at San Diego Studio did what they could to replicate even the worst hair — looking at you, Jacob deGrom — and it’s a small thing that has to be overlooked when everything else is just popping off the screen.

MLB The Show 17 Review

Lastly, and certainly not least, MLB: The Show 17 has included a “retro” game mode in honor of Ken Griffey, Jr.’s cover appearance. This mode looks and plays just like Ken Griffey, Jr. Presents Major League Baseball on the SNES, including replications of the some of the sound effects. Griffey himself will pipe in with comments for good plays, and they’ve even included an 8-bit filter to further enhance the retro feel. But there is something funny about seeing realistic player models moving side to side on the pitcher’s mound or in the batter’s box, and some of the animations for home runs and strike outs are delightfully ludicrous. Like Seattle Mariner third basemen Kyle Seager flexing his guns after a homer, or seeing Robinson Cano break his bat over his knee after a strike out. It’s just another sweet treat in the box of chocolates called The Show 17, and one worthy of savoring.

I also noticed something this year while playing in RTTS. At the minor league stadium we called home, the batter’s eye, at a certain time of day, would get an annoying shadow of a tree, and as the season progressed, that tree’s shadow would slide over day by day, meaning the San Diego Studio was utilizing real-world physics in their lighting and shadows. It’s not just a day/night cycle; I’m talking about the axis of the Earth shifting. That level of detail is astounding any way you look at it, and sums up perfectly why MLB: The Show 17 is one of the best designed games, sports or otherwise, on the market.MLB The Show 17 Review

MLB: The Show 17 continues to build on the foundations that the previous games have set. Each year, the developers add more and more to the game franchise, and further blur the line between game and reality. By creating even deeper RPG elements in the crown jewel Road to the Show mode, and still keeping the sanctity of the great game of baseball intact, The Show 17 is a stellar addition to the franchise and is one worthy of the cover star.

MLB: The Show 17 is available now for the PS4. This review is based off a copy of the game purchased at retail.

The 2017 T-Mobile Home Run Derby is being called one of the best ever thanks to a line-up featuring multiple hitters capable of blasting the ball over 500 feet. Find out how to watch the Home Run Derby live streaming online free tonight if you can’t park yourself in front of ESPN on a TV.

The two biggest names in tonight’s MLB Home Run Derby are on opposite sides of the bracket. Giancarlo Stanton will have home field advantage in Miami as he looks to become the third player ever to win back-to-back titles.

All eyes will be on Yankees rookie phenom Aaron Judge who leads all of MLB with 30 home runs at the break. Judge consistently blasts 450+ foot homers and will be looking to overtake Stanton as the biggest stick in all the league.

These two sluggers aren’t the only big bats stepping up to the plate tonight. In the first round Stanton will go up against another Yankees rookie in Gary Sanchez. This slugger hits long home runs and could upset Stanton if he’s on his game.

Judge will take on Stanton’s teammate Justin Bour, a first baseman who doesn’t get a lot of national attention but hits the ball extremely well. It will be interesting to see how Bour reacts to the home crowd being behind him.

Other match-ups include my personal dark horse favorite Miguel Sano against Mike Moustakas, and Dodgers rookie slugger Cody Bellinger against Charlie Blackmon.

Tonight’s 2017 Home Run Derby gets underway at around 8 pm EST / 5 pm PST. The competition is televised exclusively on ESPN cable with online streaming provided by ESPN3, requiring a cable login for mobile streaming access.

The Chicago Cubs and Miami Marlins commence MLB Opening Day 2018 in one of the most lopsided baseball games on Thursday’s schedule. This Cubs game is nationally televised on ESPN cable TV so you can watch the Cubs live free online streaming from the office if without TV access.

A postseason berth and World Series appearance are the expectations for the Chicago Cubs in 2018. They’ve inarguably improved their roster with the addition of Yu Darvish, and have one of the best 1-5 starting rotations in all of baseball.

Tack on a severely slimmed down Kyle Schwarber and you have the makings of a championship contender.

The Marlins have absolutely no expectations. Derek Jeter and his management team’s fire sale during the offseason saw most of their stars shipped elsewhere including Giancarlo Stanton, Dee Gordon, Marcell Ozuna and Christian Yelich. Now young and inexperienced with lone All Star Starlin Castro thrust into a leadership role, the Marlins can do nothing but overachieve.

Pitching in today’s Cubs vs Marlins game are Jon Lester and Jose Urena, respectively.

Here are the Opening Day 2018 Cubs vs Marlin game details, live stream, start time and more.
